Mark L. Nelson, DDS
Dr. Mark Nelson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah before attending the University of Oklahoma for dental school. He graduated from dental school in 1982 and completed his pediatric residency at Oregon Health Science University in 1984. He then returned to Utah and has been practicing in the Davis County area since that time. As a pediatric dentist, his goal is to provide the best possible experience for both children and parents, and to treat each child he meets the way that their parents want them to be treated.
Dr. Nelson completes continuing education courses each year to remain up-to-date with the latest treatment techniques. He completed a post-graduate certification in Orthodontics through the American Straight Wire Orthodontic Association in 1985, and in 1991 become a board-certified pediatric dentist through the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Dr. Nelson is a member of many professional organizations, including:
- American Dental Association
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
- Utah Chapter of the American Society of Dentistry for Children (in which he served as President in 1987)
- American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Diplomat)
- South Davis Dental Society (in which he served as President in 1992)
Additionally, he served as the Program Direction of Pediatric Dental Residency at Primary Children’s Hospital from 1991-1994. He is also an Operation Smile Team Pediatric Dentist and has travelled all over the word to provide pediatric and orthodontic care to children.
Dr. Nelson and his wife, Marcie, have been married since 1980. They have five children. When not in the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys golfing.
Treagan White, DDS
Dr. Treagan White grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dillingham, Alaska. He moved to Utah when he enrolled at Utah State University to study Business Administration and Chemistry. After earning his degree he moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa for dental school. While there he met his wife who played on the University of Iowa Women’s Soccer team. They continued on in Iowa City when Dr. White was accepted into the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Pediatric Dentistry Program. This residency is considered one of the top pediatric dental programs in the country and has a focus on pediatric behavior management, treatment of individuals with special needs, hospital dentistry, sedation dentistry and orthodontics. Dr. White is passionate about providing honest, high quality care to the children of Davis County. Dr. White has a beautiful wife and daughter. They all enjoy backpacking, snowboarding, and soccer.
Tyler Hanks, DMD
Dr. Tyler Hanks is a father and husband first. he has FOUR sons ages 8 and younger! He completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he earned both a doctorate degree in medical dentistry and a master’s degree in public health. At ASDOH he was awarded the Sally Rosenthal Tor Scholarship for his passion for public health and pediatric dentistry. He was also awarded the Tony Hashemian ASDOH Entrepreneur Award for his work to create technology in order to improve oral health. Dr. Hanks fell in love with treating children while working as a pediatric dental assistant during his undergrad years at Southern Utah University.
Dr. Hanks has found opportunities to lead and serve in the community, no matter where he has lived. He has served as the head dentist for TeamSmile events in Kansas City, the co-chair for Give Kids A Smile events in Arizona, a team leader for mission trips to Mexico and more. He is fluent in Spanish and a certified bilingual health provider through ALTA. He spent two years in Nicaragua as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Outside of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Hanks’ interests include playing basketball, skiing, Xbox, cheering on his favorite sports teams, spending time with his wife Lexie and chasing his four sons around!

Kate graduated from Southern Virginia University, and joined our team in 2004. She loves working with an amazing staff who loves kids and enjoys helping others. Kate works hard to keep our office running smoothly and follow through with insurance companies to ensure that they pay what they should.Kate and her husband, Bob, have three children, Poppy (age three) and Nelson (age two), and baby Harley. Bob is a school teacher. Outside of the office, Kate enjoys playing volleyball.
Oz has been with our team for 15 years, and contributes to our practice in many ways, including through her fluency in Spanish. Oz loves working together with our team, and enjoys working with children. Oz loves reading, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. She has three children, one boy and two girls.
Taz has been with our team for five years. As a Centerville native, she enjoys that our office is located in her old stomping grounds. Taz loves working with children and with our awesome staff, and brings the “fun” into the phrase “Have fun at the dentist!” As the only girl, Taz basically lives in a mancave. Her hobbies include crafting, yarding and painting.
Mandi has been with us for 4 years. Everyone loves working with Mandi. She is a amazing assistant and is so great with the kids. She is a fabulous baker- we love it when she brings in cupcakes! Mandi grew up in Farmington, went to Viewmont, and has 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Madison is a such a sweetheart! She is the kindest person you will ever meet. She loves kids and has experience working in a preschool setting. Madison and her husband live in Kaysville. She is a quick learner and has really enjoyed being at Children’s Dentistry. Madison also plans to help in with Poppy’s Playroom Childcare next door.
